Reverse DNS maps an IP address back to a hostname through PTR records published under in-addr.arpa (IPv4) and ip6.arpa (IPv6). It is widely used for mail server validation, logging, and network diagnostics. Ipregistry exposes hostname data at scale through the API; this tool performs a live DNS query for a single address.
